Dr Alison Walsh qualified as a medical doctor in 1988 and worked in General Practice since 1993. Her interest in breastfeeding medicine began with the birth of her daughter in 1997. Since the birth of her 3rd child in 2002 (after which she moved to Beechworth) she has pursued this interest and gained the following qualifications:

Australian Breastfeeding Association Volunteer Breastfeeding Counselor (2001)

International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (2003)

Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC/Possums) Practitioner (2021)

She has been practicing as a general GP with interest in women’s health and food intolerance. She is now focusing on her favorite topic - all things mums, bubs and lactation! Her qualifications in general practice, Diploma of Obstetrics and IBCLC background makes a solid foundation to base breastfeeding medicine on.

Dr Alison is a Christian and in awe at the amazing design features of breastfeeding that only an amazing Creator could make. She believes every person deserves the best of care through all their stages of life.

In her free time she loves studying(!), gardening (fruit, veggies and indigenous native plants), cooking, reading, bush-walking and crocheting.
